Women's+ Season 7 Power Rankings: Pre-season
1 Purple Heather (Purple Heather)
On paper, this is the strongest roster in the league. Elle C. clearly knows how to successfully navigate a draft. There’s height, depth, travel experience, and purple returns more proven scorers and impact players than any other team. That paired with Meg L., a QB who knows how to finish seasons on top, is why they sit at the top of our preseason rankings. Their Week 1 match up against Black stands out as the Game of the Week, and it will immediately test whether this group is as dominant as it looks.
2 Vegas Gold (Vegas Gold)
A veteran-heavy roster with a championship-level QB in Metz and veteran captain, Judy. There are fewer unknowns here than most teams would like to see. If the chemistry is there, we expect they’ll stay at the top of the rankings all season. Their opening game against Tropic Blue will test them immediately and should give us an early read on whether this roster will perform the way it was built to.
3 Black (Black)
Rounding out our top 3 is a team led by reigning champion QB Court H. and veteran captain Ash H. These two know what it takes to win—in fact they faced off against each other in last season’s championship game. And it’s no coincidence that the data shows that a certain player on this roster has never not won when repping this jersey color (or any jersey color…). With strong leadership, a roster full of talent and potential, and their good luck charm 😉, Black is ready to shake things up.
4 Tropic Blue (Tropic Blue)
This roster looks scary good. Captain, Jayme, has already shown she can develop rookie QB talent, plus they have a lineup stacked with experienced travel players and proven playmakers. If Ash Y plays on this side of the ball like she plays on the other side of it, we expect this team to be tough to contain. For a group that couldn’t commit to branding in time, they’ve assembled a roster that looks very committed to winning.
5 Scarlet Heather (Scarlet Heather)
Scarlet feels like a team that could surprise people — if the pieces sync. The football IQ is there with captain, Cee, and there are enough returning players to give QB Kat multiple looks and reliable targets. If the player chemistry is there, this team could make things very uncomfortable for the rest of the league.
6 Smoke Grey (Smoke Grey)
Is it Grey or Gray? Either way, this roster feels balanced — a high percentage of returning players paired with new additions who could shake things up and veteran player KP stepping into the captain role. This will be the full season debut for QB Nik, who ended the last season by sending their team to the championship game, and we predict that when this line up of receivers is at full strength, they’ll make some magic happen.
7 Texas Orange (Texas Orange)
One of the most anticipated rookie captain/QB pairings in the league. Austyn brings a calm, measured presence and rookie QB Courtney brings outside league experience to this role. Pair that with tried-and-true veterans on both sides of the ball and this team is set to be a contender.
8 Turf Green (Turf Green)
The range of outcomes is wide, which makes them one of the more interesting teams to watch. They’ve got an experienced captain in Tiff, who led the new travel team to its first wins last season, paired with rookie QB Maya L., who brings fresh blood into the QB pool. As Green Line devotees, we don’t entirely understand the team name — but maybe that’s the point. It doesn’t neatly fit expectations, and sometimes that’s where the upside lives. Teams that are harder to define are often harder to predict, and that’s what makes this team the wild card of the season. If previous seasons have shown us anything, it’s that wild cards rarely stay in the same spot for long.
