Women's+ Season 7 Power Rankings: Week 3
1 Purple Reign (Purple Heather) 3-0
Another Sunday, another quarterback. This time, it was Nour’s turn. She’s a runner, she’s a track star… and now, apparently, she’s a game-winning QB too.
Although they won, this one wasn’t flashy. In fact, for a while it barely moved. But these Reigning cuties don’t need a spectacle, they just need to do just enough. And just enough they did. Purple’s defense set the tone early and often holding Green to just one TD. On offense, a couple of passes to Lisa Z. and Vic’s trusted and true palms locked in the win, allowing them to sit at the top of the rankings, 3–0, and with the league’s greatest point differential.
We anticipate things will heat up a bit next week as they’ll be facing off against Vegas Gold, the only other team undefeated this season. Someone’s clean sweep is about to come to an end and we have a pretty good idea how this one will shake out.

2 Gold Stars (Vegas Gold) 3-0
Before you come at us again about your rank this week — just know we’re not listening 🙉🙉🙉. We’ve said it once and the answer is still the same: blame it on point differential.
Sure, a win is a win…but not all wins are created equal. If life (and the league’s twisted supplemental situation) has taught us anything, it’s that the world isn’t fair. And while other teams’ tantrums might get rewarded, that’s not how things work here. Here, we get the final say—and we say that another one-point win lands you at #2.
Now if these rankings were based on who delivers the best show, the Gold Stars would be sitting comfortably at #1. This game had it all, multiple TDs, a last minute try for the lead, and game-sealing interception by Chelsea S. (with an assist by fellow rookie Dominique M.). Now, it wasn’t a dominating win by any means. It was ugly, close, and a display of sheer resilience. The Gold Stars continue to prove they don’t need to blow teams out, they just need to finish. And even down in numbers and playing both sides of the ball, finish they did, courtesy of a great team effort that also featured standout moments from rookies Alaya W. and Chelsea S.
They may have come out of that last matchup a couple fingers short, but we suspect they’ll still figure out how to give their sideline a happy ending when they take on Purple Heather (the only other undefeated team). Win this one and you won’t need a point differential to make your case for the top spot—it’ll be all yours.

3 Red Flags (Scarlet Heather) 2-1
We entered this weekend with 3 undefeated teams, and welp, if you’re reading these in order you can already tell how this ended.
The Red Flags cling to #3, but last week wasn’t exactly the case for why.
Ty did everything in their power to keep things respectable with two sacks and strong defensive pressure, but that wasn’t enough to hide the red flags starting to surface. There were opportunities to take control, but missed chances and a few key moments going the other way made the difference.
On offense…we’re still calling it a “work in progress,” but at some point, progress has to actually show up. Kat is this close on those deep shots – but “almost” doesn’t count. Well, actually it counts for 0. When it hits, it’s a game changer. When it doesn’t…well, good luck asking your defense to bail you out every time.
They hold onto #3 for now. But it feels more like a placeholder than a statement. Something tells us that their captain will have none of that. So, Red’s not waiving any flags yet. This Sunday they face up against Green Line Fire – another team with something to prove.

4 Orange is the New Sack (Texas Orange) 1-2
We appreciate this team’s commitment to being perfectly “mid.” What do we mean by that? Three weeks in and they’re sitting right in the middle of the pack. They are the only team with a point differential of zero, and they also show a clear preference for sending throws and pitches up the middle. Orange is, truly, a consistent queen. 🫅 So no, we don’t mean “mid” as an insult — it’s just the most accurate reflection of their season. And besides, there are plenty of great things that are just average…we can’t think of any right now, but we’re sure someone reading this can.
Look, the New Sacks might not have had any sacks to live up to their name, but their performance elsewhere was impressive. Orange held their opposition off until the final seconds and kept the pressure on throughout, so we think it’s safe to say they didn’t lose the game — Vegas Gold won it (and yes, we’ve been told that distinction matters). And then there was Anisa — the breakout rusher-turned-receiver who shocked us, and from the looks of it, maybe even herself, in stepping into the receiver role. Consider this a note to all rushers: work on your hands and be ready to step in ICOI (in case of injury) if you want a shot at that Rusher of the Season title.
Next up they take on the Smoke Shows — yes, again. Which raises the question… did anyone actually look at the schedule before hitting send? At least with new supplemental players in the mix, this rematch should feel like a different game.

5 Green Line Fire (Turf Green) 1-2
Turf Green’s defense woke up and chose violence—even though the score board didn’t quite reflect it. The rush, in particular, was relentless, rotating fresh legs and keeping Purple QB Nour running for her life most of the game. And the “running” didn’t stop there. Word on the street is Green’s rush started taking Purple Reign’s blocking a little too personally…and we’ve heard there’s a “running list” of blockers who’ve caught the smoke—mostly for the unforgivable act of doing their job. If you’re a blocker and you’re on it (looking at you Amanda L. and Dinora) then you’ve got some repenting to do…and if you’re not, did you even try?
While the defense handled business, the offense never quite found its rhythm. In a game that struggled to get going, the Green Line Fire squad managed just one late TD, which was ultimately not enough to keep pace with Purple Reign. Still, there were bright spots—especially from MVP Lexie M., Maddie S., and Dez, who kept the energy high and proved the effort was there. Next up, they take on the Red Flags bright and early…and something tells us that after this game that running list might be getting a little longer.

6 Smoke Shows (Smoke Grey) 1-2
Grey may still be sitting at #6, but this felt like a turning point performance. We don’t want to take credit away from where credit is due, but it’s almost as if last week’s power rankings lit a little fire under them—and we do love being motivational.
Sure, it was a team effort, but let’s be real: this was the Aubrie show. Two TDs, a pick six, and a clean lock on Player of the Week. But fine, we’ll share the credit, because the interceptions were coming from everywhere. Other playmakers showed up and showed out too — including Kendall, who applied good pressure, and Em, who secured another INT for the Smoke Shows with that same gritty, high-impact style that keeps the stat sheet (and her physical therapist’s pockets) well fed.
They didn’t move in the rankings… but if this version of the Smoke Shows defense is here to stay and if their offense steps it up, they’re going to be a problem for anyone ahead of them — including Texas Orange, who they face next.

7 Super Soakers (Tropic Blue) 1-2
Well that must have felt good, didn’t it? We always said this team was capable of getting their hands dirty—and last Sunday they proved us right. The Super Soakers ran up the score almost as quickly as they ran up a tally of fouls (earning a few well-deserved death stares along the way). Meanwhile, Meghann T. and Ash Y. delivered standout performances yet again.
And for reasons we can’t quite explain, they’ll get a chance to run it back—and run the score up again—this weekend. If Tropic Blue pulls it off and outscores Black again, they might not be stuck on the wrong end of the point differential chart for much longer.

8 Grim ReapHers (Black) 0-3
Last Sunday was bleak. The ReapHers were outmatched, outscored, and remain the only team still searching for their first win. To their credit, this team doesn’t quit. They play hard, stay scrappy, and keep showing up. They’re also consistent… although not in the ways they’d probably like. For the third game in a row, they scored exactly 6 points —courtesy of a beautiful play from Court H.’s chiseled arm to the steady hands of Tori S—which brought some much-needed excitement to their sideline.
Now, with help finally arriving, they’ll get their chance to prove it matters when they once again take on an even more fortified Tropic Blue. Luckily for them (if you can even call it “luck”), the ReapHers got the supplemental pick they wanted. Now it’s time to see if it actually changes anything, because a fresh addition might look good on paper, but it doesn’t fix the foundation… and last we checked, that’s what actually wins games.
But as we’ve learned, effort isn’t the only thing that gets rewarded around here, and the rules seem to bend when you make enough of a stink to the right people… so since “Mom” and “Dad” gave you what you wanted, you better make it count.
And best believe we’ll be watching. 👀
